Internal Communication Design applying Microsoft Products

The bachelor’s thesis deals with application of internal communication facilitation tools. The theoretical part is focused on the internal communication within a particular company and on the analysis of its current tools. It also introduces Microsoft internal communication facilitation products and selects the most applicable instruments for the above mentioned company. The practical part is devoted to implementation and management of the Microsoft internal communication tools within the company. The final part of the bachelor’s thesis evaluates the effects after applying the internal communication facilitation tools.

Thesis "Software Support processes in Microsoft SharePoint Server," discusses the current state of internal communications at the Technical University in Brno, namely the Faculty of Business, Institute of Informatics. Also introduces SharePoint 2010 technology and its application to a given object. The work aims to familiarize users with SharePoint 2010 technologies and introduce basic functionality. Partial goal is to outline effective cooperation at the Institute of Informatics and simplify internal communication. The proposed recommendations include: creation of a central repository of forms, creating a communication node between scientists.
Cooperation of teams and joint leisure time of employees

The diploma thesis Cooperation of Teams and Joint Leisure Time of Employees deals with relation between frequency of involvement of individuals in cooperation of teams and their evaluation of the cooperation, information sharing and spending leisure time with colleagues. In the theoretical part, the theme is put into the broader framework of culture. The main areas affecting the problem are defined further. Emphasis is put on corporate culture, organizational climate and social relations between individuals in a company. In the empirical part of the text, the research question is described, the main hypothesis is set, the operational hypotheses are derived, the operationalization is performed, and the company and its teams that are subject of the research are presented. Subsequently, all processes and their relation being subject of the research are theoretically anchored and described based on the data analysis. In the concluding part of the text, there is an overview of mutual sympathy, ties and antipathy of members of the studied teams as well as it is found out to what extent the data analysis confirms the hypotheses determined. U.S. Homeland Security: Reality or Myth? Domestic counterterrorism post-9/11

Diploma thesis "U.S. Homeland Security: Reality or Myth? Domestic Counterterrorism post-9/11" examines the change in U.S. domestic counterterrorism policy after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. More specifically, it focuses on the U.S. government's reorganization, which led to the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. As outlined in this thesis, the homeland security agenda was aimed at unifying the U.S. efforts to prevent terrorist attacks within the United States, reducing America's vulnerability to terrorism, and minimizing the damage and recovering from attacks that do occur. This thesis sets out to answer two interconnected questions: (1) whether the proposed homeland security agenda led to an efficient and unified system of U.S. domestic counterterrorism measures based on enhanced information sharing; and (2) why, in spite of the unique opportunity created by the 9/11 attacks, a comprehensive reorganization of the U.S. government to create a coherent homeland security agenda did not materialize. Throughout this thesis, it is argued that an efficient U.S. government reorganization was obstructed by three main factors. Teamwork In A Selected Organization

The bachelor thesis called Teamwork In A Selected Organization is focused on teamwork organization, management and development. The aim of this thesis is to suggest changes and recommendations to achieve better results in the teamwork organization. The suggestions are based on analysis and evaluation of teamwork organization in the chosen company. The theoretical review is dedicated to the issue of teamwork, starting with concept of team and teamwork, followed by identification of advantages and disadvantages of teamwork, differences between teams and work groups, and last but not least, types of teams. The attention is also paid to team roles and to team leader and their importance in teams. The practical part is focused on teamwork analysis in the XY company, which provides electronic and mechanical manufacturing services. Company portfolio includes SMT and THT production, followed by testing, assembling and technological support. Final products are used in automotive, telecommunication, navigation and security industries. The practical part starts with introducing company history, its departments and activities. The next part is focused on specific work group, where the processes, employee responsibilities and employee cooperation are analysed. The attention is also paid to employee communication during processes and its impact on production quality, filling time fund and employee relations. Last part analayses rewarding system, used for work group. After the analysis the bachelor thesis suggests reorganizing this work group into a new team. However, some changes for building effective team are required. Among recommendations belong for example team-based rewarding system, team meetings and higher level of team autonomy. Expected results of reorganizing are better processes coordination, higher team members involvement and increased job satisfaction thank to new rewarding system and team autonomy.
Information Behaviour of Employees of Large Companies

This thesis deals with the information behaviour of employees of large companies. Its first objective is to provide the necessary theoretical basis for solving this problem, explaining concepts such as information, communication, information behaviour and information needs. The second objective is to subsequently capture the typical information behaviour of individuals in the organisation and of their surroundings using questionnaire survey. The result of this research is confirming or disproving the expressed hypotheses and recommendation for corrective actions if any typical problems in the field of information behaviour were identified. The research is aimed at all employees of large companies operating in information-intensive industries.
